There are various monitors on an anesthesia machine. A dedicated person monitors the following:
- Heart rate and rhythm with EKG
- Blood pressure
- Breathing volume, rate and pressure
Breath by breath analysis of inhaled and exhaled oxygen, carbon dioxide and anesthetic agents.
